How can tariffs affect Prime Day Deals?
Trump’s hanging tariff is expected to increase the price of everything, including electronics, which he originally announced on April 2. He followed quickly with a 90 -day break for most tariffs, leaving 10% baseline tariff for goods imported from most countries. Trump recently announced a trade agreement with China that kept a total of 55% duty – though 25% of it was placed in its first term.
The administration has since said that it is in the process of contracting with many countries to ease tariffs, but the basic break of the tariff is about to expire on July 9 – in the middle of the Prime Day shopping event. Double-digit may increase if the import taxes are unable to reach any agreement.
If retailers pass over the entire cost of the tariff, it may mean that we will pay more for the products produced in other countries.
After launching the original Prime Day in the 21st, retailer expanded a large spring sale in March and the number of its sales events, including Prime Big Deal Days in October. Last year’s Prime Day sales was held on July 16-17.
