Amazon’s autonomous vehicle unit, the zoo is setting up a small fleet of retrofpited Test vehicles on Los Angeles from Tuesday – Las Vegas and San Francisco to give a public ride in the end of this year as an inch, yet a meaningful step.
The data-collection attempt identifies the zoo’s entrance to his sixth city and forms the basis for the future robotuxi service. Contrary to rival Weemo, which is already providing robotaxi rides to the LA, the zoo is still in the early stages. This deployment will send to the Zoo’s self-driving technology to collect the mapping data before the extensive autonomous test.
The zoo is currently built on both its autonomous vehicles-Hylander and its intended robotaxis without steering wheel or paddle-in several cities. Significantly, the zoo has expanded the territory where its purposeful Robotux is examining the public streets of San Francisco and Las Vegas without any human driver. The zoo has recently allowed employees, media and other tested guests to try the service.
The company is also experimenting with highlander with human security operators on the back of the wheel.
The autonomous driving system extends to California several weeks after a voluntary software recovery on 258 vehicles due to unexpected hard breaking.
As the zoo entry into Los Angeles, a completely autonomous commercial Robotaxi service has been launched in WiMore city. To today, Wemo is the only AV company in the United States that provides a provided service in several cities, including Bay Area, Phoenix and Austin. The alphabet-owned company aims to launch commercial services in Atlanta, Miami and Washington DC in the next two years.
