iOS 18.5 Public Beta 1 Adds Some Mail Upgrades, Not Much Else

Apple first published public beta IOS 18.5 April 15, the company is more than two weeks after the publication of iOS 18.4 to the general public. This update brought more emoji to all the iPhones, the latest beta developer and public beta tester’s mail applications bring some bug fixes and a few changes.

Because it’s a beta, I just suggest downloading it to something other than your primary device. This is not the final version of iOS 18.5, so the update can be buggy and the battery life can be affected – these problems are good to keep on a secondary device.

Note that Beta iOS is not the final version of 18.5, so more features can land after your iPhone is published. There is no word about when Apple will publish iOS 18.5 updates to the general public.

Here is what may be present on your iPhone with 18.5 on your iPhone. And only a reminder that only developers and beta testers who have iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max or iPhone 16 lineups can access any Apple intelligence feature. If you have any other iPhone you will not have access to those features.

Apple IOS introduced updates on a few small mail apps in 18.5 Bits. One of these updates makes it easier to adjust the settings of the app by displaying or hiding photos of contacts in the mail. Photos of Communication are the images on the left side of the mail to help identify the images and who sent those emails.

Mail will display the contact posters by default, but you can turn off them from the app with iOS 18.5 beta. However, iOS 18.5 will probably have more beta before the public is released, so Apple has a lot of time to change or add these features. Apple has not announced when it will publish the iOS 18.5 to the general public.
