Apple released iOS 26 on September 15 and the update brings a lot of new features on your iPhone, such as call screening and re -design a new liquid glass. If you download the update and notice that your device’s battery is flowing faster than usual, Apple writes online that it is normal and – most importantly – temporary.
Some people noticed their iPhone battery drains quickly after downloading an update and Apple released a statement that it was nothing to worry about.

“This is normal, because the setup process on your device is required to complete the setup process, including downloading new resources with data and file indicators for searching, including updating apps,” Apple wrote on a support pageThe “As soon as you finish an update, you can notice a temporary impact on the battery life and thermal performance, especially with a large release.”
However, your personal iPhone use can contribute to the battery drain. Apple says that some new features may require more resources, so depending on how much you use your iPhone you can “notice a small impact on the performance and/or battery life.”
So your device can first gain some additional battery drain experience, it should be a temporary problem after you download the iOS 26. If you see that you are using your iPhone more after downloading iOS 26, it can also contribute to your battery drain.
