When Jamie Gul received a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics from Stanford University in 2007, there was a place he wanted to go next: the desert.
Mozave desert, to be specific. A company called Scald Composites spent several years of experimental aircraft development in that dry land and wanted Gul.
He could try to get a more traditional spacecraft job, but he was worried that he was “working in a latch for five years”-a common joke about big, slow dynamic companies. But on the scald composite? “I knew that I would make something, and I would do it fast, and I would graduate in college who would own the actual results,” he said.
Two years later, Gul jumped into SpaceX, where he helped re -use the Falcon 9 rocket – a large milestone in the history of that company and on which it created a lot of valuable business.
Now, Gul is preparing for a new challenge: known as launching deep technology funds at an early stage Wave function initiativeThe Just last week, he turned off $ 15.1 million to the first fund of the wave function and he was already closed and running.
Sprinkle has invested nine in spanups such as gallbladder (deep division), humanoid robotics (Persona AI) and of course space (Airship Industries). He told TechCrunch that he was hoping to invest in about 25 seeds or pre-seeds outside of this fund. (Gul Anchor refused to name LP and said that the rest of the fund was filled with other funds and “high-net-valued persons with the support of greater family offices.)
The rise of the wave function comes at a time when the funds of Deep Tech are increasing, spreading somewhat with increased attention in fields such as airspace and defense. This is a trend that is a trend earlier this year, a new Silicon Valley-based Deep-based Deep Tech Fund, which has broken the cover with the Volkswagen group, is part of a bid to lift hardware and production startups in the United States and Europe.

It is a kind of environment that seems suitable for someone with a background like Gul – and not just as a skilled space engineer.
At the end of his period in SpaceX in 20 2016, Angel started investing by making bats in companies like Supersonic, K2 Space and Varda in SpaceX. He established the Electron Vertical Takeoff and Landing (Eveitil) Startup Talin Air as part of the winter 2021 batch of the Wi-Combinator and was still part of an initiative in the Pioneer Fund in the YC. (Talin was Earned In 2023 by another Avtal Organization, by Empire.)
All these diverse experiences for using Gul Wave Functions – quick prototyping, a startup, Angel Investment – want to establish.
“I can really gain that all my founders are most uncertain when things are uncertain to help to go to that early stage and then help them to create their companies,” he said.
Gul also believes that Deep Tech is about to be a place for big returns in the next 10 to 20 years. He said the startups of these places may require more capital, but they can earn non-entrepreneur funds (such as government agreement or resource-baked nding) to make and establish more strong cone than software companies.
It will take time to get to these big returns and Gol is ok with it. When he started his career as an interested creator, he also knows the value of patience.
One of the projects he worked for 15 years ago was Stretelanch, the largest aircraft in the world at that time. It was a very complex aircraft that Gul SpaceX and it remained on development long after it was left.
It was not until 2019 when Gul and his Talin co-founder Ivan Mucassi Mozava Airport had a “fly-in” (car show but for cool aircraft) that he found an indication that he saw the giant aircraft flying.
“I called a friend and said, ‘What time do we have to have for the aircraft show?’ And he said, ‘I was 6am’ I was, it didn’t mean, “Gul said. He did not know what his friend was indicating, but he believed that it would be suitable for the aircraft at first.
Certainly, Gul and Mucci were approaching the airport, with stratlanch, parked on the runway and ready for the aircraft. They landed and at the commemoration of every Gul, stratlanch started the journey 15 minutes later.
Gol said, “I think it was about 10 years after working on the computer screen.” “It was wild.”
