Unknown hackers targeted the leaders of the exile in a campaign involving Windows Spyware last month, researchers on Monday.

Citizens Lab, a digital right research group based on the University of Toronto, Detail A spy campaign against members of the World Yugur Congress (WUC), a company that represents the Muslim-minority group, which has been facing suppression, discrimination, surveillance and hacking from the Chinese government over the years.

According to the report, Google warned some WUC members in the hacking promoting in mid -March, persuading members to contact journalists and citizen lab researchers, the report said.

Citizen Lab has investigated and found a target phishing email sent by WUC members, containing a trusted communication, who sent a Google Drive link to a Password-Protected Summarized file contaminated version of a Yuhur language editor for a file editor.

Researchers said that the expedition was not particularly sophisticated and it was not involved in zero-day absorption or tenant spyware, but it was noted that “a high level of social engineering was shown by the supply of malware, which expressed the deep understanding of the invaders’ community.”
