Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order in the US will begin on April 9, but it appears that these plans have changed due to the tariff of President Donald Trump. It is not clear that this means that Nintendo has to increase the price of a switch successor, which already starts at $ 450.

Nintendo says it is delaying Switch 2 Pre-order in the United States, Nintendo’s statement said. The company says it is reviewing the impact of the new tariff, but it will still release the new console on June 5.

“Pre-order of Nintendo Switch 2 in the United States will not start on April 9, 2025 to evaluate the potential impact of the tariff and the development of market conditions,” said in a statement through Friday through the email. “Nintendo will update time on the next date. The date of introduction of 2025 is unchanged.”

Nintendo did not indicate whether pre-order dates outside the United States would change.
