Top -level technical talent and a deep farming Heritage, including Heritage Tahay, are being developed as one of the main centers of the country for Seattle and the wide Pacific North West agricultural technology.
This region is sitting in the top five agtech ecosystems in the country, says Eric BensonManaging Director of Voyager Capital, which Hosted This is the first Agtech CEO summit this week in Seattle.
Benson-Yini grew up on a 2,5 acre farm an hour north of Seattle-Washington University and East Washington and Oregon’s innovative farmers cited the power of robotics, AI and hardware engineering from a strong base.
Benson has extensively identified three main reflection points for the Agtek sector:
- The rise of success stories with the results of billions of dollars.
- A new generation of technology-wise farmers is more open to the technology.
- Changes in physics, robotics and AI from the use of chemicals in agriculture for greater sustainability and productivity.
After several years of continuous growth, investment in August startups at the top of the top 2021 ($ 1431 agreement) has dropped in August startups, deployed to 5 agreements last year, deployed .1.1 billion, according to PitchbookThe
Despite the global enterprise funds, Benson is a bullshit about the sector. The CEO participated in his firm event this week has jointly raised more than $ 1 billion.
He said that about 20% of the most recent funds of Voyager went to Agtek startups with four Pacific North -West companies.
One of these is carbon robotics, a Seattle-based startup that helps farmers to remove weeds without using herbs. The Gikwire 200 list of the top Pacific North-West Startups has collected 7 157 million since launched in 2018 and recently created a self-driving platform for tractors.
Carbon Robotics CEO Paul MicheselSeattle Software Veteran and YW Grade say the progress of AI and affordable electronics is running a “robotic revolution”.
