Google’s AI-based notebook and research assistant notebookLM is available in its audio overview features 76 new languages, the company announced on Tuesday. Audio Overviews were launched last year to give users the ability to create a podcast with the AI Virtual Host, based on the documents shared with NotebookLM, such as course readings or legal summons.
The concept behind the trait is to give users to digest information and understand the information uploaded to the app. With this expansion, more people can use audio overviews in their desired language.
Google notes that still, audio overviews have been generated in the desired language of your account. Now, the company is introducing a new “output language” option that allows users to choose which language they have generated in their audio overviews.
Google says that you can change the language at any time, making it easier to create multilingual content or study materials as needed.
“For example, a teacher in the Amazon Rain Forest can share resources in different languages - such as a Portuguese documentary, a Spanish research paper and English study reports – with their students,” Google wrote in a blog post. “Students can upload these and create an audio overview of what insights in their choice language.”
