On Tuesday, the music streaming giant Spotify said its founder Daniel was resigning as EK CEO and would be the executive chairman of the organization at the end of the year.

The company is replacing EK two co-chief executive officers in the house: Gustav Ciderstrome, Vice-President and Chief Products and Technology Officer; And Vice-President and Chief Business Officer Alex Nostrum.

“Over the past few years, I have returned a large part of the daily management and a large part of the strategic direction of Spotify to Alex and Gustav-who have turned this organization from our first day and now more than ready to guide us,” said in a statement. “This change is only matched with the title of how we already handle. In my role as the Executive Chairman I will focus on the organization’s long arcade and keep the board and our co-chief executive officer deeply connected through my fiance.”

In an X -post, EK also mentions that Spotify was profitable for more than a year.

He has served as CEO of EK Spotify since its establishment in 2006, so this is a major change in the leadership of the streaming giant.

In 2018, a body scanning health startup called EKO NEK co-founded, which earned $ 1.8 billion worth of $ 260 million in Series B Fund earlier this year. He also operates an investment company called Prima Materia, which he founded alongside Spotify investor Shakil Khan in 2021.
