Connection: Sports version The most up-down puzzle for me for all online games in New York Times. Sometimes I am (not often) and other times it stumps me. Usually the hard purple section was right for me today, but I had to fill in the blue section myself, because it has a word that I have never seen before (Babolat). Read for hints and answers.
Connects: Sports Edition is now out of Beta, Super Bowl on Sunday, February 9, February 9. It is a symptom that the game has achieved sufficiently loyal players that the Times-owned subscription-based sports journalism site athletic will continue to publish it. It does not appear in the NYT Games app but now Athletic appears on its own app. Or you can continue to play it online for free.

Hints for today’s connections: Sports version groups
There are four hints for grouping in today’s connections: the Sports version is the puzzle, the easiest yellow group is tough (and sometimes bizarre) in the purple group.
