The subscription increases are just coming, and HBO Max the latest Streaming services to increase the price on its plan. Effective Oct. 21, monthly and annual subscriptions are set to increase, Warner Bros. Discovery announced Tuesday. New customers will be affected first.

HBO Max Announces Streaming

Starting today, the monthly cost of the ad-based Basic plan has increased from $10 to $11, while the standard ad-free plan has increased from $17 to $18.50 and the Premium from $21 to $23. Annual subscriptions are also increasing, with Basic now $110 (up $10), Standard now $185 (up $15) and Premium $230 (up $20).

Pricing is effective immediately for new HBO Max subscribers. If you’re an existing customer on a monthly plan, you’ll be notified “30 days in advance” of the billing renewal date and the new rate will hit your next bill on or before Nov. 20, the company said. Annual subscribers may have a little more leverage, as prices will change between your next annual renewal period, but you’ll get 30 days’ notice.
