South Korean AI Chip Startup Furiosai Tuesday announced the partnership for the supply of AI chip, RngdUsing Enterprise LG AI researchThe Xion platform has recently been unveiled.
RNGD has been favorable for large language models (LLM) and to run Just last week, the Korean Tech Giant unveiled LG Its next generation Hybrid AI Model Exone 4.0. Cooperation targets the main sectors including electronics, finances, telecommunications and biotechnology for different types of applications.
This news comes about three months after Furiaxai’s Meta’s $ 800 million acquisition offer comes about three months after rejecting, preferred to be independent.
Local media outlets say the agreement has declined due to disagreement over post-acquisition business strategies and organizational structures. The interest in achieving AI chipmerers like Furyisai reflects its extensive strategy to reduce dependence on third -party suppliers like Nvidia.
Asked why the deal was read with Meta, Furyisai’s CEO told Pike’s TechCrunch: “We want to continue our mission, and I think it’s an exciting opportunity at the same time. I believe it is a very effective contribution to the company and the company is a very effective contribution to both AI computing.”
Out of the M&A (at least Meta), Pike has now refused to specify whether the startup in search of new funds.

However, Pike says that this new partnership will lead to the possibilities of much more business outside South Korea.

“LG AI’s Xon is considered as the top sovereign AI model in South Korea. It will not only be used in LG. It will be one of the main AI models used in the Korean AI ecosystem.
Pike said the decision to accept the AI chip of LG AI’s Furios and the accelerator is significant for other reasons: This is one of the few public approval of the Nvidia opponent by a large initiative. One of the main reasons for winning is that the hardware for startup is low.
Pike said, “We had to prove that our solution not only provided strong performance but also reduced the total cost of ownership,” said Pike.
Furyisai claims that its RNGD Accelerator has surpassed the competitive GPU with the LG AI Research Xon models, providing a 2.2 times better assumption performance. Pike also said that the LG found that the Furiosi hardware had more energy skills.
Furosa’s chip is not a simple GPU but it was built exclusively for II. “We can support different types of AI models efficiently but against the GPUs, which is still fundamentally general-informed processor, our architecture is built locally for AI computing. We do not develop our chip for mining,” Pike said.
The Seol-based startup, which operates an office in Santa Clara, has only a global team of 15 employees.
