Sora’s Rapid Acquisition drives several App Store Scammers to try to enter this law. Last week, after the opener’s invitation, the Apple’s App Store was flooded with a net, declared themselves as “Sora” or “Sora 2”.

These applications somehow passed the Apple’s app review process. Using a trademark brand name by OpenAI and using a fairly well -known brand name in the technology industry before the app’s debut, they were actually a public list in the App Store.

According to the research given to TechCrunch on the basis of our request through the app detective platform AppFiguresThere were more than a dozen “Sora”-Branded Apps that went straight to the App Store after the official app was introduced. More than half of them used “Sora 2” in their name. (A Were characterized by these Apple Blogger and Pandit, John Gruber, who called it “the App Store scandal of the week”)

Many of the applications were not even arriving. Some were live in the App Store – sometimes using other names – from the beginning of the year or even last year. Imposters who are also included in Google Play have also seen about 300,000 collective installs, and after the launch of Sora’s official app, 5,7 installs are coming to the north. (Opena has then announced that Sora’s official mobile app has been downloaded 1 million times to compare)))

Consumers’ needs and inquiries were often updated just after the Openai’s Sora App launch to capitalize on their names.

It is unclear how these applications were able to follow the past of Apple’s reviewers; Appfigters say Apple has finished pulling many of them from their App Store.

Among the Impostster applications, the largest was named “Sora 2 – AI Video Generator” – an obvious attempt at the Game App Store searching for “Sora” keywords. It saw more than 50,000 installed after the official app was launched.

As the time of writing, a few Sora-brand applications are still live despite the possibility of consumers’ confusion. One, “Petrilles – Sora for pets” but has seen more than a hundred installed. Another, “Viral AI Photo Maker: VI-SOOR” Sour is trying to press the word there, but the traction could not be achieved.

In the name of branding “Sora 2” (Sora 2 – Video Generator AI) the app is somewhat better. It has been drawn in the answer to 6,000 downloads and counts.

Combined, applications have earned more than 160,000 – 160,000 considering their short life.

Apple was asked to comment on how Sora-brand applications were able to live live and these remaining Sora-brand applications would be removed. Did not respond before it was published.
