Today’s NYT strands The puzzle is a fun one, but it fooled me at first. I wondered if it was the awards-show section, or the newspaper section, but it wasn’t. Some of the answers are a little hard to crack, so read on if you need hints and answers.

Clue words to unlock in-game hints
Your goal is to find hidden words that fit the puzzle’s theme. If you are stuck, find any words that you can. Each time you find three words of four or more letters, Strands will reveal a theme word. These are the words I use to get those hints, but any word you find of four or more letters will work:
- nats, story, chat, see, went, stop, then, toss, gem, mess, rots, hat, spot, pot, storm, mind, trot, graph
Answers to today’s Strands puzzle
Answers that tie into this theme. The goal of the puzzle is to find them all, including the spangram, a theme word that reaches from one side of the puzzle to the other. When you have them all (I initially thought there were always eight but learned that number can vary), every letter on the board will be used. Here are the nonspangram answers:
