After spending Having tested 25 smart bird feeders from 10 different brands in the last year, many have impressed me, but none as frequently and consistently as Birdfy’s. It was the first brand in the market to introduce AI bird detection, as well as supporting products such as smart nesting boxes, birdbaths (see below), and feeder bodies made from different materials such as wood or metal. Products still suffer from occasional fogging or connection issues, but all smart feeders do. Birdfaces are my go-to for gifts and personal use in my home because of their consistency and ease of use.

Amazon BirdFi is having a huge

If you’re looking to buy one for yourself or a loved one this year, these are the best prices you’ll find and these are the most giftable models, the most usable “Amazon BirdFi” without a subscription. (Note that all Birdfy feeders only operate on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.)

Rookie Smart Bird Feeder

If you’ve never dealt with a smart bird feeder before, it can be intimidating. I know multiple people who were gifted a smart bird feeder for the holidays last year and yet in November 2025, they still haven’t taken it out of the box. Apparently they’re not alone, because now there’s a feeder specifically “Amazon BirdFi” for the reluctant: the Rookie, which looks like a gravity pet feeder and snaps together in three simple pieces without any tools.

You still have to charge the 1080p camera (once a week, because this version doesn’t come with a solar panel) and calibrate it in the app, but that’s it—just pop the camera into its little side stand, fill the seed hopper, Attach it to a wall Or pole with “Amazon BirdFi” the included hardware, and you’re good to go. Since there’s only a side view, you’ll get a fair amount of butt shots from birds facing the other way, and remember you’ll definitely want to site it out of the way of squirrels, as it’s quite light and the top comes off easily.

An enduring classic

Feeder lights with solar

There are plenty of smart feeders on the market, and none of them are perfect, but I consistently recommend this longtime best-seller for its combination of features, usability, apps, and price. There is a solar panel “Amazon BirdFi” option and either AI via subscription ($5 per month) or included, but Amazon’s deal is with the by-subscription option and solar panel. The panel has to be mounted separately, but in my experience, it’s worked pretty well at keeping the camera charged even when it’s cloudy.

If you are worried about squirrel damage

I haven’t tested this exact model yet, but I have tested many plastic feeders chewed by squirrels. If you are interested in the original BirdFly but worried about squirrel damage, this is a must get. It uses the same 1080p camera you’ll find alongside Birdfy’s Pro 2 Duo. It also doesn’t require a subscription for AI detection “Amazon BirdFi” and comes with a built-in rooftop solar panel, so you don’t need to bring it to charge the camera battery. I’ve had better luck with BirdFi’s solar panels on other models that hold a charge even during cloudy seasons.

Feeder 2 Pro with AI and Solar

This is Birdfy’s flagship smart feeder, featuring the highest image quality of any feeder camera from the brand. I tested the 2 Pro Duo, which has two cameras; This model only has one, but it’s the same as the Duo’s main camera, which I can attest to is outstanding. (You’ll want to make sure it’s close to a router, though, as it will “Amazon BirdFi” require more bandwidth than a typical feeder camera.) It has two lenses—a wide-angle and a portrait—and the latter will actually track any birds that land and zoom in for a closer look. 2K video captures can also be played in slow motion and there is a light to capture interesting scenes at night This version requires no subscription, and comes with a solar panel, which must be mounted separately.

A fun, new way to bird watch

If your giftee already has a smart bird feeder or doesn’t want to deal with a seed mess, why not gift them a smart bird bath? This one has already won one Innovation Awards for CES 2026And despite some initial connection issues, I had a lot of fun testing it out this summer. It captured visits from everything from birds, spiders and “Amazon BirdFi” squirrels to raccoons trying to steal pump filters. (He eventually succeeded.) Note that the bath still requires some maintenance, other than refilling—because the reservoir is shallow, it’s prone to algae, and the pump gets clogged with large debris like leaves. But I still highly recommend it as a fun gift for any bird lover; Especially this version, which comes with a matching “Amazon BirdFi” stand and doesn’t require a subscription for AI detection.

Bamboo Mini Bird Feeder with Camera

The majority of intelligent feeders are constructed from plastic, and this is for several “Amazon BirdFi” valid reasons—it is long-lasting, withstands damage from the elements, and is simple to maintain. But no one will argue that it looks great in your yard. I haven’t tested this exact feeder, but I’ve tested a similar one and I was “Amazon BirdFi” surprised how much classier and more natural it felt to me. Feeder pole. It sports the same 1080p camera as our beloved original Birdfy and comes with a solar panel to keep the camera charged (must be mounted separately). AI ID is also included, so you won’t need a subscription. As a bonus, you can Save an additional 10 percent by entering our code WIRED356 (You can find Spot for a promo code under Payment Options), which brings the price down to $136.
