As the first episode of the new season, ordinary people shake your head with a mixture and distopian horror mixture. The story is followed by primary school teacher Amanda (Rashida Jones) and her construction worker husband Mike (Chris O’Doud), who one day dreaming of starting a family together is trying their best to end. Mike is presented with a fix after a medical emergency that leaves Amanda health at risk, but at a cost. Enter Rivermind, a technology company that provides a service to bring back Amanda from the brink. Soon, corporate greed and medical abuse are published by the company’s mouthpieces and sales representatives, Gainer (Tracy Alice Ross), and the couple has overcome their comfortable lives through Amanda’s health. If you were expecting a simple story that gently drops you into the Black Mirror Universe, it’s not. Ordinary people are a slow dynamic tragedy that prefers an uncovered brain tumor on you and quickly goes under your skin, wondering if this episode technology will be as simple fiction and whether it will reveal yourself as social predictions.
