Samsung’s cute Orb-shaped robot is getting a smart upgrade for Google’s Gemi AI. The home robot that will be available from this summer will now be able to participate in a more advanced conversation with your, your family, your friends and your guests.
Using Voice Commands, you will be able to instruct the ball to manage your home environment, to adjust the mood lighting, create schedule and greet people at the door (though there is no thumb to the robot and it is smaller, it is not completely clear how the door will open).
According to Samsung, the Gemini Integration will allow you to suggest styling when trying to pick up what you wear in the morning, suggesting accessories or “a color new shirt” (hopefully it is ready to get to you.
The evolution of sand is a large part for integrating Google’s AI tools with Samsung’s own language models, combined with data that the robot can collect through its microphone, camera and sensors. The two companies have a long history of cooperation and have been working together for the past few years to integrate Google’s latest AI Vikas with Samsung’s flagship phones such as Galaxy S2 Series.
“With Samsung’s AI capacity in Bali, we are earning the power of open cooperation to unlock a new AI colleague with Jemie’s powerful multimodal argument – which is moving with users, expecting their needs, and interacting in a more dynamic and meaningful way,” Yang. A press releaseThe
Roll out of sand
When Samsung first unveiled CES 2020 in Las Vegas, it was not clear whether the robot would ever make it out of the show floor. I have kept the robots on CES for almost a decade, and it is safe to say that most of them are just technology companies that use to attract crowds and attention. But not sand.
Bali pops up again at CES 2024 and then Samsung again announced this year that the robot will be sold in the United States and South Korea in 2025 summer.
Nevertheless, Samsung can cut off work to explain to them a sand in their home, Ben Wood, chief analyst of CCS insights. “Personal robots like the ball also accept the title and the imagination of the customers, but Amazon found with his Astro robot, which was launched in 2021, is a complex market.”
People are definitely interested in the concept of home robots, but that doesn’t mean they will buy them. According to Wood, Amazon is thought to have sold only a few hundred units of Astro. However, recent events in AI, as well as rumors have planned to enter the robotics market in the coming years (and show ideas) means that we have the hope of finding a way to enter our home for this much-hyped technology.
Wood says, “Samsung will expect that it will be more successful with sand and it will undoubtedly make it more interesting with the Gemi Assistant,” Wood said. “However, the question remains: What do you need if you have a Jemini on a smartphone in your pocket?”
Samsung has still announced the price for sand, and it is hard to estimate how popular the partner’s Droid will be without it. If it is relatively affordable, it can become the first robot that many people welcome to their families, embedded Gemini more our lives and homes.
