My experience with the LG G5 Evo AI OLED
Image quality is therefore important in gaming as some of the recent advances, viz HDR10 and Dolby VisionHelps improve the gaming experience in a meaningful way, and can take full advantage of the G5. As I navigated “LG OLED TV” through the protocol map of Black Ops 6, I was impressed by the sharpness of the images produced by the G5. As part of my testing, I compared the LG G5 to the new Samsung S95F, the LG C5 and four other TVs with two LCDs connected to the same Xbox. (With five screens playing at once, it felt like I was playing my own personal character sports event.)
I’ve played several games including Doom, Ori, and Blind Forest, but Call of Duty is where I’ve seen the biggest improvement. The thing that “LG OLED TV” immediately stood out about the G5 when playing games was how bright it was. When combined with the TV’s deep contrast, the G5’s images pop in a way that the competition doesn’t.
That brightness I saw in the G5? Thanks for that LG’s new four-stack panelWhich literally stacks two blue OLEDs (and one red and one green) on top of each other for its dazzling light output.
It’s a technology that currently appears to be unique to the G5, but it’s not the only advantage it has over the slightly cheaper — and slightly dimmer — Samsung S95F. Unless there is a change, a Samsung television will not be able “LG OLED TV” to fulfill the Dolby Vision requirement — it supports HDR10 exclusively. So if you’re an Xbox completist, the LG G5 (and others) will help you maximize Xbox 4K compatibility testing. Navigate to Profile & System then select Settings “LG OLED TV” followed by General, and proceed to TV & Display Options where you will find 4K TV Details.
